A broker is asleep at a dark desk until someone hires him. After that he works his own shift, rests, and goes back - the whole time he is at his desk he is earning a share of what the vault is releasing. There is nothing to clock in and nothing to wait for.
The same 25,000 GOB wakes a new broker, re-hires one you just bought, and clears a mental breakdown on the spot. Burned in full - none of it goes to a treasury.
ERA IS THE ONLY THING THAT MULTIPLIES WHAT HE EARNS.
Five stages, each a permanent purchase burned in full, each one a different year to live in. Nothing else in the game raises his multiplier - not his level, not your office, not a consumable. He earns a share of real fee revenue in proportion to this number and the hours he is actually at his desk.

Upgrades are manual and never automatic: reaching the broker level opens the option, you choose to burn it, and the room remodels around him. Era is per broker - moving one of yours to V does nothing for the rest. Standing in Era V costs 1,241,376 GOB in all: 850,000 GOB of Era burn plus 391,376 GOB of broker levels to reach the gate.
BROKER LEVEL BUYS EXACTLY ONE THING: HOW LONG HE WORKS.
He works longer, and that is literally what you are buying - 8-hour shifts stretch to 16-hour shifts across five bands. It never changes his multiplier. A resting broker earns nothing at all, so a longer shift means more of the day spent earning, and the rest of the day is still rest.

"Daily output vs 8h" compares one band against another over a full 24-hour cycle. It is a ratio between shifts, not a rate and not an amount - what a broker actually collects depends on the vault's reserve and the total active weight on the day, both published on /stats.
Levels 10 · 20 · 30 · 40 are the only places the two ladders touch. Each one extends the shift by two hours and opens the next Era to buy - one countdown, two things at the end of it.

THE OFFICE GRANTS SEATS AND LOOKS. IT TOUCHES NO EARNINGS.
One office per wallet, free, created the first time you hire. It decides how many of your brokers may be at a desk at once - 2 seats to grow to 8 - and how the room looks around them. It is not a multiplier, it is not an NFT, it does not transfer with a broker, and it earns nothing on its own. Your brokers stay independently sellable; the room stays with the wallet.

Levels between seats are cosmetic and cheap by design - the seat is the reward. Office upgrades run on the same cost curve as broker levels, so the full room, Lv.1 to Lv.50, is 1,279,909 GOB.
